point guard 34-year-old Stephan Curry recently capped off another outstanding season that resulted in another finals trophy and his first NBA Finals MVP award.
His father, former point guard and commentator Dell Curry, believes Steph can still be a dominate player in the league several years into his 40s.
Playing at a high level that far into his career would put Steph in a rare group of players, most recently Vince Carter who retired when the NBA shut down for COVID in 2020.

‘Watching him play at 34, he can stay at his level and be this productive on the floor,’ said Dell.
‘He might not score 30 a game, but you’re going to have to guard him. That’s important to have on your team, someone you have to guard. It makes things easier on your teammates.
‘He still has the drive. He wants to win more. He’s hungry to win more. So, he definitely can play at this level for several years to come.’
Steph’s game at 40 or older however would likely resemble that of John Stockton or Jason Kidd as opposed to that of Carter.
Much like Stockton and Kidd, Curry relies more on his high basketball IQ, short area quickness and other skills as opposed to athleticism.
Curry also has the added benefit to his game of being arguably the greatest shooter the NBA has ever seen and could mimmick the final years of the careers other great shooters who aged gracefully in the league like of Ray Allen and Reggie Miller.

For now however Steph has been working hard in preparation for the new season while also enjoying his offseason.
‘I’ve seen it up close and personal every summer,’ Dell Curry says.’Two-a-day workouts. Before everyone in the house wakes up, he’s already got one in.’
Steph has also hosted ESPN’s ESPY awards and was recently seen enjoying a vacation with his wife Ayesha.
