Tiny one-bed studio flat in Marylebone goes on sale for £600,000

A studio flat in on the market for around £600,000 is so tiny the double bed is in the kitchen and costs more than 20 family homes in Britain’s most affordable town. 

The one-bed in Portman Square, Marylebone which also has no space for a lounge or dining area has just been reduced from £650,000 to £599,950.

Its main room, which is just 4.8m by 4.1m wide, contains a bedroom and kitchenette which are located very close-by each other in what the property listing calls an ‘open living or kitchen sleeping area’.

The bed is just a metre from the hob, microwave and sink and there are two small wardrobes at either ends of the bed to offer some storage. 

Anyone who bought the property – for more than half a million pounds – could just roll out of bed for breakfast or a midnight snack.

Mortgage repayments on the studio flat are estimated to be a whopping £2,505 per month which is a 20th of the asking price for a terraced family house in Shildon, Co Durham.
